I've worked with Ms. Amani on 3 different occasions:
The first was to create a Will and Powers of Attorney for my mother. Ms. Amani showed sensitivity and patience in handling her affairs. She answered every question, explaining in clear English how each step worked. She also asked the types of questions that made my mother really think through how to plan her estate. When the documents were done, my mother and I agreed that we actually enjoyed the process, as Ms. Amani maintained a gracious sense of humor throughout, putting us at ease.
The second instance involved purchasing a new home. Ms. Amani reviewed all documents throughout the process, including the Agreement of Sale, the deed, and more. She found mistakes made by the realtor and title company, crucial to the deal, that would have led to trouble later in the purchase process. She also worked to negotiate a pre-possession agreement with the sellers. All in all, we were thrilled with the job she did.
Finally, Ms. Amani assisted me in exiting a job that had grown toxic. After years of mistreatment from upper management, Ms. Amani managed to negotiate a severance package typically reserved for those whom the company chooses to let go, not those who voluntarily leave. This package included not only continued pay for several months, but also health care for much longer. I never considered the possibility of providing a cushion for myself, since I was quitting. But through her persistence, her collection of facts, and her emphatic presentation to the head of HR, she made it clear that I had truly earned this compensation. In the end, even the company admitted that the package was fair and deserved. Overall, Ms. Amani enabled me to move on and find greener pastures with a sense of dignity and peace.
I can't recommend Ms. Amani enough for any and all legal matters. She's an absolute joy to work with - kind, communicative, moral and she knows the law inside and out.​
